Built at Pomfret for people down the hall and down the road.

A student-run club at Pomfret School.

A 12-second loop of the club’s tools at work: AutoPlanner’s color-coded weekly tables, a Music Studio lesson invite being sent, quotes and timeline cards from Pomfret Voices as built in September 2026, and Roster Export’s comment Docs. Pomfret Voices shows the school’s own archive; the other tools show demo data.

Casework

The full reel, one tool at a time: AutoPlanner fetched three students’ schedules and wrote a Google Doc; Music Studio previewed a lesson invite, then opened a student’s profile and a lesson recap; Pomfret Voices, as built in September 2026, lit up its archive quotes, glided through the timeline and opened a 1975 milestone; Roster Export turned three classes into three comment Docs; then a merged pull request on the club’s GitHub. Pomfret Voices shows the school’s own archive; the other tools show demo data.

Teachers and staff bring us a chore that eats their week. A team of students scopes it with them, builds the tool and hands it over. See how we work.

One-page project spec · Cayden Auyang ’27, President · Oct 2026

The project, in five lines.

What it is

A student-run software lab at Pomfret School, started in November 2025. Teachers, staff and local organizations bring us a chore; a team of students scopes it, builds the tool and hands it over.

Who

37 student members, 33 of them on case teams, plus an alumni advisor. Led by Cayden Auyang ’27, President, and Luke Ryan ’27, Vice President, with Josh Lake as faculty advisor.

Runs on

What the school already uses: Canvas, Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar and Apps Script. Client data and student records never go into our repositories.

How we build

One public GitHub repository per project. Every change is a branch and a reviewed pull request; nobody pushes to main. We build with AI coding assistants, and none of the four tools we’ve built calls an AI model.

Delivered

AutoPlanner, to the CLC Supported Study Hall, on October 5, 2026: staff add a student once, and that student’s planner Doc updates itself every evening and at midnight. Music Studio, to the Music Department, on October 7: lesson invites, files, recaps and the time sheet in one place.

Cases

  1. Three students’ color-coded weekly tables in AutoPlanner, one after another. Demo data.

Case A · AutoPlanner · CLC Supported Study Hall

As delivered, October 2026.

The footage above is the May prototype. This is the version the CLC uses now.

AutoPlanner’s staff page: a crimson “Update all students now” button, the last automatic update (8 of 8 students), and a list of students with invented names, each with a CLC teacher, a hidden token showing only its last four characters, its expiry date, the last update and an Open Doc link.

The staff page, as delivered. Only CLC staff can open it. Demo data.

A week tab in a student’s Google Doc, “Week of Oct 5 – Oct 11”: a color-coded table for each class, the same assignments by day, and an “Added by staff” table for work that isn’t on Canvas. Status and Notes columns are filled in by hand.

A week tab in a student’s Doc: by class, by day, and “Added by staff”. Demo data.

Built to hand over.

  1. (01)

    Bring us a problem.

A form or an email is enough.

  2. (02)

    We fill in the Frame.

A short recorded call, read back to you before we build.

  3. (03)

    A first working version.

Shown to you before we build more.

  4. (04)

    Demo, feedback, repeat.

Every change is a branch and a pull request. Nobody pushes straight to main.

  5. (05)

    Hand it over.

A live link, or a script in your own Google account.

One click on Create Google Doc, and AutoPlanner confirms the Doc is ready with a link to open it. Demo data.

Same playbook, off the hilltop.
